Kate customized a program for me, and I am pleased to say I am so much stronger now, can cycle multiple days in a row and enjoy running again. I started going to Colorado Active Pilates with Kate in May. I feel so much better and stronger in just 2 months. I have scoliosis and have had a lot of problems with my neck. Since doing pilates with her my neck no longer hurts and I find myself sitting up and standing taller. Kate is an instructor that pushes you as your body gets stronger and stronger. Her space has all the pilates equipment you expect such as reformers, cadillac, high low combo chair, stretching barrel, stability balls, mats and rings. She is always willing to meet with you as your schedule permits. She offers a great discount for 3 private lessons for all who are just starting out which I highly recommend. I became a student of Kate’s after I had been suffering from chronic lower back and hip pain and was looking for some relief. My lower back would ache after standing for long periods of time and my hips would throb and become stiff. I had been practicing yoga for nearly 15 years but despite my flexibility, I was still suffering from pain on a daily basis. When I met with Kate, she took the time to explain to me that although my core was strong from years of doing yoga, I was overworking certain muscles. This caused an imbalance in my body and made my pelvis to become unstable. As a result, my hip would pop during certain exercises and my lower back was working overtime in an effort to stabilize my core. My back felt tired and sore almost all of the time. I signed up for 3 private sessions and after the third session, I had already begun to feel stronger. I learned how to use my breathe and ab muscles to pull my body into alignment. After only one month of meeting with Kate two times a week, my back pain is gone! My hip is no longer popping since I have strengthened the supporting muscles around it. I love going to my sessions because I get such a great workout and I feel so empowered after accomplishing them! I am using muscles that I didn’t even know that I had. I feel so much stronger and I stand and sit taller. My body feels longer and leaner and my legs look better than they have in years! I am hooked! Kate is such a warm and caring person and is an incredibly challenging teacher. She pushes me to work hard and constantly reminds and encourages me to check in with my body so that I can get a better workout. She knows exactly what I need to work each time I see her just by looking at my alignment. I always leave her classes feeling better and more energized. Pilates with Kate has been one of the best investments I have made for myself. Thanks to Kate, I am feeling more grounded, balanced and stronger than ever!
I started working with Kate in the beginning of June 2014 and absolutely love her. The results I have gotten with 2 to 3 sessions a week are amazing. Kate is an incredible guide and expert in Pilates, she works with the smallest details in your movements to ensure you are getting the most out of each session.
